Supporting students and the Army Cyber Spartan 2024 event

The 13 Signal Regiment reached out to X-Net as part of its Army Cyber Spartan cyber security training exercise, to help them invite local businesses and education providers. The aim was to let teams take part, using the same platform as used by the Army and other participants, so they could see the kind of exercises and challenges faced, and learn from it. Forty students from Bournemouth University, and Bournemouth and Poole College, took part.

It was very much a field exercise rather than a lab exercise for the students. They took the daily briefings with the Army personnel. They imagined landing in another country to take over the security of wide spans of infrastructure whilst being attacked.

The feedback from the lecturers has been fantastic. We thank the Royal Signals for their generous invite and the BattleLab team as well. We hope this can further develop with the help from solution provider, CybExer Technologies.
