Ian Campbell BSc

Ian is an exceptionally experienced Interim CIO with unrivalled success in delivering challenging strategic objectives to achieve superior business performance. He specialises in business and IT transformation and change, helping turn around inefficient and loss-making businesses. His mix of motivational leadership and vision coupled with a heavy dose of common sense and pragmatism have helped achieve success, often against the odds.

Ian started his career as a pilot officer in the RAF. Having graduated with a degree in Economics from LSE, his IT career foundations were forged at Logica where he successfully developed a global line of business in financial products, at ICCH where he managed delivery of trading services to organisations such as the London Stock Exchange  and at PA where he undertook successful consulting assignments for Prudential, Scottish Power and Orange Telecoms covering tasks such as programme recovery, e-product conception and launch and commercial direction of the entire business.

Since then, Ian has demonstrated serial success in interim board-level IT roles for organisations facing massive change. Roles have included CTO of Citibank, board director at Energis, leading programme recovery at BUPA, CIO at British Energy, turning around Royal Mail IT, board director at Cambridge Assessments group, group CIO for Transport for London in the lead up to the Olympics and board director and CTO at TUI travel.

Ian is currently chairman of Azzur, a consulting business focusing on coaching and development of people and organisations.He works with X-Net Chambers LLP as an associate.
